Church Governance

The Board of Trustees is charged with the overall operation of the church. All committees report to the Board. The membership elects the members of the board. Members serve for staggered three year terms. The President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary of the church are selected by the Board from its members. The board meets monthly.

The annual meeting is held in mid-May. It determines the budget for the coming year, elects the Board members, and determines other policies. All are welcome to participate in discussion, but only members may vote.

MSUS is affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) and the MidAmerica Region of the UUA. Each UUA church is self-governing and calls its own minister according to its needs.
