March Brings Opportunities for Fun

Not only does March bring us the first day of spring, but it also brings a lot of opportunities for fun in Religious Education!

On Sunday, March 5th, we hope you’ll join us for a birthday party for Dr. Seuss following the 10:30 AM service. The party is being planned by the children, so it’s sure to be a good time. I won’t give away all their fancy plans, but there will be games, a photo booth, and some Seuss specific treats to eat, so don’t miss it!

There will be a free “Teacher’s Café” from 9 AM – 1 PM held at White Bear Unitarian Universalist Church on Saturday, March 18th. This is a fantastic opportunity for volunteers in all of the religious education programs around the Twin Cities to get together for some continuing education, fellowship, and lunch. I’m pleased to share that the key note speaker for this year’s event is Peter Mayer, so save the date now as I’ll have more information on registration available very soon. (The opportunity to carpool from MSUS will be available as I will be taking my minivan over.)

Spiritual Practice Saturday will be on March 25th from 10 – 11:30 AM and will focus on labyrinth walking. There will be at least one large labyrinth available to walk, as well as finger labyrinths for those with mobility challenges or who do not wish to walk. There will also be an opportunity to craft your own finger labyrinth to take home. This event will be appropriate for all ages so no childcare will be provided.

We have SO many classic Seuss stories to cover in class in March and leaders and readers are needed for all but one of the weeks. If one of your favorite stories is listed, but you’d like to take a look at the lesson plan before signing up, they can be viewed by title online here:
