Committee on Ministry - Offsite

In a congregation, the Committee on Ministry is typically set up for one of two purposes: as a means of direct support and guidance to the minister or as a group helping to ensure that congregational ministry is fulfilling the congregation's mission.

At this time, the MSUS Committee on Ministry (COM) is functioning to support, guide and provide feedback to Rev. Laura as she begins her ministry and gains the experience needed to move from Preliminary Fellowship to Final Fellowship. Preliminary Fellowship lasts for 3 years and requires frequent, regular meetings, as well as annual evaluations submitted to the Ministerial Fellowship Committee. Currently the COM meets monthly with Rev. Laura. We submitted an evaluation for the church year 2017-18, and additional evaluations will be submitted in June 2018 and June 2019 toward the goal of Rev. Laura being welcomed into Final Fellowship by the end of 2019.

After 2019, the COM may be reconfigured to support Rev. Laura and MSUS in other ways.

Current members are: Katie Johnson (chair), Doug Root, Kate Burek, Doyle Mullin
Feel free to contact any of the COM members, or Rev. Laura, if you have comments that may be helpful to Rev. Laura's ministerial growth.
