Director of Religious Education

Anna Paquette

Anna Paquette is our quarter time acting Director of Religious Education

While she has been attending MSUS since the summer of 2006 and is well known to some, many of you may be interested in her background, education, and work experience, which lead to her becoming acting Director of Religious Education. Her father became a Lutheran minister when she was ten years old, so she has spent the majority of her life with the understanding that one’s life is, and should be, deeply intertwined with that of their spiritual community. This belief has resulted in her being willing to eagerly jump into a variety of roles at MSUS over the years including member of the board of trustees, member of various committees, bookkeeper, RE teacher & team lead coordinator, and hospitality team lead. With the sudden loss of Christine Spiritwolf, she felt that the position of acting DRE was another opportunity to live the vision of MSUS and to deepen her commitment to the church and its members.

Her work experience in the Twin Cities includes a position as an executive assistant in a corporate office, bookkeeping/HR/payroll, preschool teaching assistant, and, currently, homeschooling parent. While she does not have a theological degree as of now, she did graduate with a BA in Communications from Bethel University in St.Paul in 2014. She is a Fridley resident, living almost exactly one mile door-to-door from MSUS, with her husband Mike, three children (Ada, Mina, and Eli), and four cats.

In the coming months, she looks forward to having conversations with Rev. Karen, the children, their parents, and the rest of MSUS’ members and friends to discuss how we can work together to engage and develop deeper connections to each other and our spiritual community. If you have ideas you’re eager to share, she would welcome them at any time.

Anna can be reached via email, by phone/text at 763-439-9196, or in person Sunday mornings at the church. Anna would like to thank all of you for your support during this unexpected transition and looks forward to working alongside each of you as we move forward and navigate how to best support each other and our congregation’s youth.
