Our Community Values
What Guides Us
We are guided by our Vision/Mission, our Covenant Statement, and the Unitarian Universalist Principles and Sources. The Board of Trustees governs the overall operation of the church.
We invite you to explore how we approach life together and connect with us at anytime.
Vision for Merging Waters
The Mission of the MW community of all ages is to celebrate an actively examined faith, challenge one another with loving kindness to be our best selves and work for a flourishing world.
Drawing on shared values of Mindful interdependence, Authentic curiosity and Courageous love, we commit ourselves to living out our mission and transforming ourselves and the world, using our MSUS resources of time, talent and treasure to create and enliven the community we envision.
In our MW community, across all ages, we:
Ground ourselves in ritual and practice that develop lives of meaning and purpose.
Create a loving community of intentional care and support for one another.
Practice generosity that nourishes our spirits.
Build authentic connections across lines of difference; and provide radical hospitality for all.
Articulate and explore our Unitarian Universalist faith identity as an intergenerational community learning as we live it together in the world.
Discern our individual and collective work for justice and pursue that work with courage.
Act as a trusted and committed partner with organizations that bring more love and justice to the world.
Cultivate our covenanted relationships with the larger Unitarian Universalist faith movement.
Extend a visible invitation to spiritual seekers in our broader community
Covenant Statement
As we work together to live our mission and vision, the members of MW covenant together to:
Respect each person and his or her beliefs
Serve MW with our time, money, and participation, as best we can
Act with integrity by living our principles in what we say and do and honoring our commitments
Further a loving and welcoming atmosphere
The beliefs of the Society's members are as varied as the number of people who belong to MSUS. One belief we all agree on is that every person is encouraged to develop a personal philosophy of life. If you have questions, "100 Questions that Non-Members Ask About Unitarian Universalism" from the UU Church of Nashua, NH, may answer them. "Voices of a Liberal Faith - Unitarian Universalists" is a ten minute YouTube video that gives a broad overview of UUism. YouTube eight minute video Unitarian Universalism: You're a Uni-What?" gives another overview of Unitarian-Universalism.
