PAST EVENT: Bridging the Partisan Divide and Strengthening Our Democratic Republic

Political polarization is dividing our country. How do we practice courageous love and work to stay engaged with people who think differently than us? Braver Angels seeks to depolarize American politics and promote patriotic-empathy, the idea that our love for our country is shown by our concern for our fellow citizens, including those we disagree with. During this workshop we will watch "Braver Angels," a recorded presentation by Bill Doherty, Ph.D., who is a professor in the Department of Family Social Science in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota. He is a member of Unity Unitarian Church and co-founder of Braver Angels. We will have a short discussion facilitated by Amy Luedtke after we watch the presentation.
