Summer Worship

We are joining a consortium of 8 congregations for summer services. The congregations include: Bismarck-Mandan UU Church and Fellowship (BMUUCF); Minnesota Valley UU Fellowship (MVUUF); UU Church of Minnetonka (UUCM): UU Congregation in Eau Claire (UUC); UU Fellowship of Mankato (UUFM): UU Fellowship of Northfield- (UUFN): UUFLC, La Crosse; and us!

MSUS will hold two in-person/online hybrid services per month. On the other Sundays you can join the service hosted by another congregation online or attend in-person at the host congregation.

We would like to have the opportunity to gather in people’s homes for “watch parties” on the Sundays when we are not meeting in person. If you are interested in hosting a group of congregants (you can name the number of people) please contact Rev. Laura.

Most services are at 10:30 am. Those which are not, have an asterisk. MSUS services at Fridley Middle School have location and title in bold. All services are HYBRID, in person and online. Fridley Middle School’s address is: 6100 W Moore Lake Dr NE, Fridley, MN 55432

In the midst of uncertain times there is power and courage in the unknown. When we embrace the idea that we do not know we open ourselves up to allow a higher wisdom to flow. The cup must first be empty before it can be filled. When we resist the idea of not knowing we become stuck in past patterns, unable to move forward. Together let’s explore the ways we can face the unknown with grace and gentleness while making an invitation for possibility.

The origin of Labor Day has roots in a failed experiment by Universalist George Pullman during the rapid changes of the Industrial Revolution. As we face the aftermath of the Great Resignation and the stark divides in America’s working conditions revealed by the pandemic, what values do we hold for labor and liberty?

Rev. Lisa Friedman serves the Unitarian Universalist Church of Minnetonka as their Developmental Minister. She has served congregations in New York, Michigan, and Minnesota for the past 26 years. She is passionate about building strong, multigenerational communities that make a difference in the world.
